VersaSTAT4A Potentiostat Galvanostat

The VersaSTAT4A leads the VersaSTAT family with its high-speed 500 kS/s measurements. Its floating measurement capability enables experiments on ground connected cells including fuel-cells, storage tanks, and autoclaves. When operating with another floating potentiostat it is also well suited to bi-potentiostat RRDE experiments.

Refer to VersaSTAT4 if external 20A booster is required (not available with VersaSTAT4A).

    VersaSTAT Family

    The VersaSTAT Series consists of the VersaSTAT3A, VersaSTAT4A, VersaSTAT3, VersaSTAT4 and VersaSTAT3F.

    This family of instruments combines our option-based hardware and software platforms to create the most popular line of potentiostats. The VersaSTAT3A, VersaSTAT4A and VersaSTAT3F all offer floating operation, enabling tests on grounded cells (energy applications include fuel cells, electrolyzers;
    corrosion tests on storage tanks, pipelines, autoclaves).

    Hardware and software upgrades further extend the value of the VersaSTAT Series
    :

    • Low Current Interface option (VersaSTAT-LC) extends current measurement to 4 pA range (122 aA resolution)
    • FRA option can be added at any time (without return to service) for EIS measurements from 10 uHz to 1 MHz.

    VersaSTAT3, VersaSTAT4 and VersaSTAT3F all include 20 Amp booster as standard (except when included as part of the VersaSCAN systems). These units are able to operate with or without booster enabled (20 A or 2 A) and can include the low current interface and FRA options.

    VersaSTATs operate within the VersaStudio software package.  This software is the data acquisition program for all Princeton Applied Research potentiostats, including single channel and multichannel designs.  VersaStudio has dedicated techniques for most standard electrochemical experiments.  This includes actions common in energy, physical electrochemistry, and corrosion applications.

    Applications and Software

    Users can select from the different groups of techniques that are available:

    Energy providing charge-discharge curves (including CC-CV) for Capacity-vs-Cycle Number or Coulombic Efficiency as well as dedicated techniques such as Constant Power, Constant Resistance and Potentiostatic / Galvanostatic Intermittent Titration Technique (PITT, GITT)

    Voltammetry providing fundamental electrochemical techniques such as Cyclic Voltammetry, Chrono-techniques. The Advanced Voltammetry techniques also include Pulse Voltammetry methods.

    Corrosion providing multiple corrosion analysis techniques, including the most common ASTM standards such as Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR, ASTM G59), Tafel (ASTM G5), Cyclic Polarization (ASTM G61), etc.

    Impedance may be added to any system to provide Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy techniques
