The SI-9300R Battery Analyzer is a complete solution for the characterization of high energy and power cells. More than just a battery cycler, it includes unique measurement and analysis features that are specifically designed to help accelerate materials research, support analysis of battery state of health / battery capacity and gain understanding of performance issues that may be incurred in-service.
SI-9300R is a modular system with each module consisting of five independent measurement channels. Each channel is rated to 3 kW and can deliver current pulses of up to 300 Amp (200 Amp continuous). Each channel performs the same basic function of battery cycler but includes additional features that target developers in HEV, PHEV and eV Second Life applications.

Regenerative Technology
The SI-9300R battery analyzer incorporates energy efficient Return to Grid technology (RTG) in which excess power from discharging cells is returned to the electricity grid or recycled within the system, providing as much as 90% reduced operating costs compared with non-regenerative technology. RTG also reduces cooling requirements which enables the SI-9300R to occupy as little as one quarter of the volume of non-regenerative systems - ideal where your floorspace is at a premium.

Multiple Current Ranges
Unlike single current range instruments that lose precision at low energy tests, the SI-9300R battery analyzer utilizes a novel multi-range current sensor, allowing development work at high and low C-Rate with no loss in accuracy and precision. The system is equally adept at testing eV pouch and prismatic cells while providing tools for power cycling 18650 and 21700 form-factor cylindrical cells, with application in end of line testing, drive cycle tests and hybrid pulse power characterization. Multiple current range modules enable increased test flexibility with reduced floorspace requirements.

Impedance Measurement as Standard
The system includes a dedicated Solartron Frequency Response Analyzer on each channel, providing high-speed / high-accuracy EIS analysis from all cells under test. In addition, for cells that have a third electrode, anode / cathode analysis is also provided using EIS enabled auxiliary channels.

Real-time Data Analysis
The system software makes extensive use of EIS modelling that provides real-time updates during test runs to allow continuous cell trend analysis. This can extend to rapid SoC/SoH analysis using proprietary algorithms – essential for cell grading and other time sensitive SoH applications.

Direct to Disk Technology
Conventional battery cycler systems use PCs to transfer data from battery cycler channels to disk. SI-9300R instead uses advanced technology to write data direct to disk without PC intervention. For high channel count systems this dramatically reduces PC workload, increases system reliability and allows the PCs to concentrate on test control, channel monitoring and data analysis.
